After reading this thread and recalling HHJPs many remarks of praise given to Cheney, I am beginning to think, this man really is giving us and the media a performance and he just might be really good come trial. Either that or HHJP is just blowing smoke flattering comments in his direction.

Anyone know how he has actually performed during a trial? I hope R Hornsby can give us an answer.

Here is a link to an NBC Crime Mystery on one of Mason's clients, Nelson Serrano. There are 6 videos that cover the subject - you can find the other videos to the right of this Part 4.

Mason lost. Serrano is now on Death Row.

As a side note, part of the defense was that it would have been impossible for Serrano to fly in, do the deed, and fly back in the allotted amount of time. Mason publicly offered $1M to anyone who could duplicate that trip in that amount of time. One person did, and Mason refused to pay up. A lawsuit has been filed in that case.

numbers, thanks for posting this video. I only watched this one but it did show me what Cheney was like during a trial. I take it the trial took place about eight or so years ago. Cheney was easy to understand, composed with his answers and very reserved. He didn't give the closing argument in this portion of the video. I saw nothing like I have in recent hearings. So I can now understand HHJPs comments regarding his history with Cheney.

Whether the years have worn on him or not, I still believe we might see a different Cheney at trial. Doesn't change my opinion of him or raise him on the ladder rungs of disgrace. This man evidently knows how to work the system of trials. Something JB has not and can not grasp. Even with a straw.

eta: I just watched all six videos and this trial took place in 06. Part 6 really surprised me based on the evidence. Anyhow, the video above does show how Cheney can be professional.

CM "did not remember" saying anything harsh or critical of KC..I think (also) when he said that "things evaporate" he meant that his previous interview (condemning KC) would evaporate--but it hasn't!

He was probably refering to black-outs. haa

I tend to agree with you Count. This Cheney we have seen pre trial, (the one bordering on senile, hard of hearing, laced with his good ole boy accent) strikes me as being very fake. I imagine, that come trial time, his style will change with a jury present. He can't be so stupid as to believe his past shenanigans will play well with every day, common sense people. Even though the trial will be in Florida, I doubt they will think his good ole boy routine is genuine. Southerners are pretty good at deciphering a real southern accent/southern boy routine, and one that is put on for others benefit. STILL, I believe he will not produce, as expected, at trial. First of all, he doesn't seem to know the case very well. With the loads of evidence in the states possesion, that's going to be crucial.

Even if he can pull off a "likeable" personna to the jury, I doubt some of his arrogance will not seep through.

The defense can gather all of the defense attorneys in the world, but none of them will be able to get Casey out of the overwhelming evidence against her. She's done and this I feel sure of.
