A Silver Alert has been issued for a missing man from Linton.

According to authorities, Robert G. Waters, 85, was last seen around 3 p.m. Thursday in Linton. He may be in danger and in need of medical assistance.

Waters is about 6’0” tall and 195 pounds with gray hair and blue eyes. He was last known to be wearing a brown coat, light blue short-sleeved shirt, blue jeans, black shoes and a red hat that says “Waters Fishing.”

He was last seen driving a red 1999 Chevrolet Blazer with Indiana plate 370AWJ.

Indiana Conservation officers recovered the body of 85-year-old Robert Waters in Richards Lake this afternoon.
At approximately 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday officer found evidence of a vehicle entering the lake, 50 South and 1500 West in Linton.
Conservation officer utilized Side Scan Sonar and SCUBA divers to determine a vehicle was in fact in the water. The search ended at approximately 8 p.m. Monday night and resumed early this morning.

Greene County coroner George Ockerman ruled the cause of death for former Silver Alert subject Robert G. Waters as natural.

Ockerman said Waters had heart disease and suffered a heart attack while driving.

“He had died before he got in the water, possibly,” said Ockerman. “He did not drown.”
