INDIANAPOLIS -- Family members are asking for help to find an 18-year-old woman who went missing Saturday evening in Indianapolis.

Family members say Sarah Heinrich was in town for a family reunion and was outside of their hotel, the Marriott off River Crossing, taking photos with her brother just before she disappeared around 7 p.m.

"We went to take some photos around the hotel. I was with her. We came back inside and when she needed to go use the restroom I let her do that," said Sarah's brother, Sam. "Apparently, she came outside when I wasn't looking and just caught a second when I wasn't aware and she went out to go take some more photos and I never saw her again."
Sarah's mother, Cindy, says she has autism and may be hesitant to talk to strangers.

"She can't really fend for herself because of the autism," said Cindy. "So she can't handle money and do the simple things like that. She had no ID on her. She had no money. Everything is in the room and she left it. She didn't take her clothes or anything with her so there's absolutely nothing, no evidence that she intended to be gone."

Police took a missing person report from Heinrich's parents around 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

Family members say her cell phone last pinged near Keystone at the Crossing but as of Monday it was no longer accepting calls.

Sarah is described as being 5 feet 6 inches tall and 170 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a tan and white striped shirt with dark colored jeans.

Sarah's parents have hired a private investigator to help them locate their missing daughter.

I lived in Indianapolis for almost 10 years, until 2014. I've been to that hotel when a friend stayed there on a business trip. That area is pretty low crime-wise, and there are some nice neighborhoods surrounding it but it's mostly businesses and offices around the hotel. If she had headed south out of the parking lot she would have seen a big mall. She might have made that short walk to check out the stores, lots of fashion places in it. The family may consider alerting mall security to be watching for her. The Mall does close at 9 but I doubt it's possible to do a thorough search of each and every store when they close up.

I live in Indy. I was just in this area today. It is a niceish area, but I do notice panhandlers like to stand at stoplights in this area to solicit money. So, there are some shady characters. But I’m sure she was there to meet someone. Why else would someone from FL come to IN and to this particular mall?

Her entire family was with her, visiting town for a family reunion.
