Just came across this tragic and bizarre case on the Daily Mail website. A Columbian businesswoman, Zulma Guzman Castro, is accused of killing two schoolgirls in Colombia, with thallium-laced chocolate raspberries, on April 3rd. 2025.
The 54-year-old has been at the centre of an international police hunt since leaving Colombia on April 13, but was dramatically found in the UK, after being rescued from the River Thames, near Battersea Bridge, west London, on December 16th. 2025.
After the rescue, Guzman Castro was involuntarily committed (sectioned) to a psychiatric unit. After her release from the psychiatric hold, she was arrested pending extradition to Columbia.
