This is the arrest record, 8/22/08 notice he was apprehended on probation revocation, we want the info so you can post for them, they want to know what happened.

I need pictures of A.F. and of K. L, one of the most important issues is whether Tawni was arguing with K.L or A.L earlier in the day in front of the car dealer. There was a witness from the dealer who said it was K.L., but the lead was never followed and A.L.was never questioned about it. If it was A.L, then it puts enough suspicion to make it plausible that A.L. lied in all of his statements. If it was K.L then it may be that K.Lodered A.L to teach Tawni a lesson which is something that one of L.D. statements alluded to.

A.L, pled guilty to faulure to aid and the court plea bargained to dismiss reckless manslaughter and the Marijuana possession. The police did not follow through anything and they should have, there was a lot of leads and info they overlooked. Never questioned ANYONE from the Ajax liqour store about things. Took ****ty witness statements from the 2 truck drivers, one of the witnesses wasn't interviewed until a week later and them was not sure about which way she came from the car.

Since he was charged with involuntary manslaughter and the charge was dismissed, he was never tried, he CAN be charged with murder if enough evidence comes forward.

K. L is in jail now on charges of running a prostitution business with underage girls. So he can still be questioned. His name keeps coming up and I believe he knows Tawni and he has NEVER been questioned.

Hi Kelly! You can find AF's mugshot on the Dollar Bill thread (thank you fmw). We have not been able to find Lipsey's, though he is currently incarcerated in AZ. IIRC, Lipsey was questioned in Tawni's case but claimed he didn't know her. Don't think LE went much further with him. Another name has come up recently in connection to this case - Ronnie Phelps (I think!). He is believed to have known Tawni. Should be some info on him in thread #7. I'll see if I can find it!

Here's the contact info for the car lot salesman/witness. His name is Joel and he did call the police about the arguement that day. It WAS Alonzo aka Dollar Bill argueing with Tawni. Joel knew Alonzo/Dollar Bill from around the neighborhood and said that he had business cards he would pass out with the name Dollar Bill on them.
After the accident, the detectives questioned Joel on two occasions.

Here's a snip of my report from 8/14 thread #7 post 205, when I called the car lot and talked to Joel;
He was very nice and said he had seen the guy and the car around town. He knew the guy as Dollar Bill. He didn't know either of the girls. He said from what he remembers the car followed her. Dollar Bill and LDJ argued with MJD and made her get in the car. A caddy. He was thinking it was a white caddy but couldn't remember the color. He said that detectives came by twice to talk to him trying to solve the case.

He said he had a teenage daughter at the time and was effected by the case alot. My phone call brought up memories and he told me that he moved to a different area to sell cars because he had seen so much bad going on in that area. He asked me to let him know when we find out who she is and to call if we had any more questions. He said that the police report would have more information than he could remember 9 years later.

Which were found in his car. They're in the police photos.

I know this is slightly off topic, but still somewhat related: in the police report, Alonzo or Lindsey referred to making a stop at someone's house, and Tawni apparently went in. Could this be related to the robbery of Tawni's mom's house? (If so, that kills me. If they could have found out whose house it was, maybe they could have identified her sooner.... argh.)

IIRC, didn't LDJ mention this AFTER the report was taken? (that they made a stop at another house).. I don't know, this case was not aggressively combed over like it should've been. I understand that detectives have a pile of work, but since the circumstances of Tawni's incident were quite odd and she passed away (bless her soul), I would think they would have put more effort into her case. I feel so bad that the family is left with a lot of unanswered questions and I will pray that they get answers very soon as they deserve to know.

Where did you get this information? About Tawni's mothers house? I didn't think she lived in AZ when Tawni ran away?

Teresa, I don't remember the exact topic (it may be in one of the locked ones) but I seem to remember Christine or Believe (forgive me if I don't have my facts straight, I'm just going by memory!) saying something about Tawni's mom's house being robbed after she went missing (I think). Tawni's mom did live in Gilbert, AZ at the time. She lives in GA now, but Tawni was living with her mom in AZ at the time she went missing.

Boy, if you could sue the police for malpractice...well, I think Tawni's family would definitely have a case. This case was f***ed up by the PD from the get-go.

ETA: Now I see why LDJ and AF wouldn't give up her name (if they knew it). They sure had a lot invested in people thinking that Tawni was "just a hooker" (she WASN'T a hooker, of course; IMO she obviously jumped from the car because she knew she was going to be forced into prostitution) so that the PD wouldn't ask too many questions. LDJ and AF--total 🤬🤬🤬.

I hope that the Mazzone family is working with a good lawyer.

That can't be correct because they didn't even know who Tawni's mother was until just the other day. :waitasec:

I still need to catch up but from my understanding KTL had no involvement. He was incarcerated for several weeks already at the time he was questioned no? His name only appeared as a tip from RA. Nothing else...

No, no. What I'm saying is--and this is just me thinking--that the house that LDJ alluded to stopping at with Tawni was Tawni's mother's house, since it's been said that her house was robbed a week after Tawni went missing. If they had found out who lived at the house at the time, they may have been able to identify Tawni sooner.

You know, I don't think its right, even if it is somehow public info to be putting up information about witness' with their names and what they did. This is the exact reason why so many won't say anything and we don't really know what sort of people we are dealing with here. Saying so and so called the cops and then pasting in the address I think is very inappropriate and unthoughtful.

Doing this could make important people skip out or put them at personal risk.

It just said her house, it didnt say who owned the house.

"IMO she obviously jumped from the car because she knew she was going to be forced into prostitution) so that the PD wouldn't ask too many questions. LDJ and AF--total 🤬🤬🤬."

One of the witness' said she had tried to apply for a job as a dancer. True or not I don't know. But lets not start deciding what the story was. We all can think with fairly good accuracy she jumped because she thought it was less risky then staying in the car and thats about it.

Where did you get this information about her mother's house being robbed?? Also Tawni's family doesn't need a good lawyer The prosecutor is the one that presses charges etc.

In the thread "Is MJD Tawni Lee", Christine mentions that after talking to the family they learned that "The family home was robbed one week after her disappearance by Tawni accompanied by two men, one of whom somewhat matches the description of Alonzo Fernandez, the driver of the Cadillac MJD exited."

I guess I was in so much shock over her finally being identified I missed that. She got killed 5 days after she ran away so did the robbery happen within those 5 days?

Well, I don't know why they couldn't sue the police department for wrongful death in Tawni's case. The PPD refused to take a police report on her, and she was dead very shortly after her disappearance.

They should at least consult a very good lawyer!

Not taking a police report didn't cause Tawni's death. It did hamper identifying her for a long time though. I can't help but think if they would have this poor girl would of had a name and the family would have known right away what happened to her. I hope that every law enforcement official reads about this case. I don't care if a child - teenager has run away 100 times before file a report!!! Spend 5 lousy minutes and fill out the report!!! The next time a screw up happens like this it could be your own child that is gone!!

Tawni ran from Ma. Then ran from her mothers house five days before she was killed.
It is said she and somebody who looks like A.L. robbed her mothers home. I am her step sister from the Mazzone side. I do not know if it verbatim from her Mother Debbies mouth that she was robbed or not. I do not know if that is the reason she left her mothers house. She left Ma. Only a few SHORT MONTHS before she was killed.

Hope this helps
Kelly
