The next day, when his daughter returned to their home in Swords, she found he hadn’t slept in his bed, and food she had prepared for him was untouched. He also never showed up for his job as a printer at the Irish Independent.
A year before his disappearance, Timmons' wife had died suddenly, and he was not coping well. His family believes he could have been overcome with grief and may have taken his own life. Both Timmons and the car he was driving the night of his disappearance, a white Wolseley with registration number YZU-896, have never been located.
