Weird. All the circumstances of the day of the incident suggest suicide but every other reported fact about her life makes suicide seem very unlikely. I hope her phone and internet history was thoroughly examined to establish if the friend she told the cab driver she was meeting exists or was a lie, that seems like a critical juncture.
The "person walking alone vanishes, later found in water" scenario so many times, nearly always with the implicit conclusion of accident or suicide. I don't believe in the "smiley face killer" theory but it's scary that there could be a killer or killers out there remaining hidden through this sort of a modus operandi.
