My 36 year old nephew, Dustin Lee Hughes, is missing. He boarded a plane headed to Rome, Italy on Saturday April 2, 2022. Yes, he left on his own. He thought he knew what he was doing but I personally think he was delusional. I might be wrong. The key issue at hand is that he promised to call once he got there. We have not heard from him since. He had a backpack with very little in it. He had some photos of his deceased mother. He had very little money. And he did NOT have a cell phone which is unusual, especially for someone his age. He loathed cell phones. How was he going to call us once he arrived there? I do not know, but he promised he would. I know it is like looking for a needle in a haystack but I am asking if you see my nephew or may know of his whereabouts, please tell him to call home.

Dustin, 36, lives in Tennessee (USA) with family members. On 2 April he flew from his country to Rome. He said he would call them and as soon as he arrived but that was not the case he did not give any news from him. He has his passport with him but not his cell phone. The family fears that he may be in trouble.

I take it they verified he made it to Rome? Was this a vacation or a visit to meet a friend or work related?

Dustin has been located, as confirmed by the Italian tv programme ‘Chi l’ha visto’ Chi l'ha Visto - News - Ritrovato grazie agli spettatori americano scomparso a Roma
(His name isn’t mentioned because of privacy laws but the announcement is definitely about him).

From the link Translated "Rediscovered thanks to the American spectators who disappeared in RomeRome, 22/4/2022 - Thanks to the spectators, the American with whom they had lost contact after his arrival at Rome Fiumicino airport, at the beginning of April, was found. It was tracked down after the appeal that family members had launched to "Who saw it?". Aunt's thanks: "Thanks to this television program and the many citizens of Italy, my nephew has been located. He is fine. We haven't talked to him but our minds are calm knowing that he is alive and surviving"."
