Italy - Small plane caught upside down in lift cables, October 2019

A small plane ended hanging upside down in the cables of a ski lift in the Italian Alps. The pilot was injured being thrown out of the plane, while the passenger was uninjured. Plane left entangled in Alpine ski lift cables
I wonder what really happened, was the pilot flying too low, or is there any other explanation for not noticing the ski lift cables?
