Well, I'm not holding my breath on the mega million, but I'd be happy with just one million and that's much more doable. I personally know 3 people who've won between 2 and 7 million so I'll just keep playing and hoping!

I can't remember the odds quoted on the recent mega million lottery, some mind boggling number, yet 3 people hit it.

Apparently the odds of a single ticket winning are one in 175 million. But they sold nearly 1.5 billion tickets so actually three winners sounds a bit low.

It might be because the odds are calculated on the assumption that all numbers are equally likely but many people pick birthdays so if they draw bigger numbers there are fewer tickets with the right combination.

says the odds of being struck by a lightning in an average lifespan of 80 years are 1/10.000 *runs for cover*

I just don't get the stories of people who win a million or more TWICE. Or more.

They can buy a lot of tickets with a million dollars I guess :D
