Oscar-winning actor Jane Fonda announced Friday that she's been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma — but vowed that chemotherapy will not slow her political activism.

The 84-year-old Fonda said she's confident of overcoming this health crisis.

"So, my dear friends, I have something personal I want to share. I’ve been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and have started chemo treatments," she posted to Instagram.

"This is a very treatable cancer. 80% of people survive, so I feel very lucky."

Dr. William Dahut, chief scientific officer for the American Cancer Society, agreed that Fonda has a fighting chance — depending on a host of factors...

Oscar-winning actor and activist Jane Fonda, who revealed earlier this year that she had been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma, announced Thursday that her cancer is in remission and she can stop chemotherapy treatments.

"I am feeling so blessed, so fortunate. I thank all of you who prayed and sent good thoughts my way. I am confident that it played a role in the good news," Fonda wrote in a blog post titled "BEST BIRTHDAY PRESENT EVER!!!" (She turns 85 on Wednesday.)
