JBR, the Pineapple, & Benzos: Wendy Murphy on Tricia's True Crime Radio 7/28

I haven't listened...missed the show last week, but I think the link that was posted which referenced an almost exact conversation from back in 2006 tells me that Wendy Murphy hasn't really refreshed herself with the facts during the last 7 years.

I've never seen anything about drug laced pineapple, and quite frankly, it's this kind of muddying the waters with unproven "facts" which has continued to dog this case for the last 17 years.

Could it be possible that PR & JR are telling the truth about the pineapple and JB being asleep. This is only my opinion. I have no links to back this up but can see it going like this:

JB is zonked out, JR carries her up to bed. PR & JR go about their business of packing and go to bed. BR waits for Mom & Dad to go to bed (or at least go to their room and THINK the kids are fast asleep). BR wakes JR in the wee hours of the morning, gets her a snack, curious playtime begins, something goes wrong and parents are awakened. They go straight to the "crime scene". JBR is unresponsive and this is when all the rest of the cover up takes place. Maybe they never even saw the bowl of pineapple or thought about it as the kitchen was not where everything happened.

I am just using my imagination here and trying to consider what the possible explanation of the pineapple is. Maybe they aren't lying about the pineapple, just trying to save their only surviving child. I also am of the mindset BDi and this is the closest scenario I can come up with without having read and studied ALL of the evidence. I have to admit I am not familiar with Thomas' book. I will have to go read it now....

There are many possibilities. JB could have got pineapple on her own had it been left out, BR could have brought some up to her room - a few pieces in his hand. JR could have given her some pineapple after waking her. PR, on arriving home from the party, could have said "Well, we've all just been to a party where there was plenty to eat and drink, and we all have to get up early tomorrow, so let's all go in the breakfast nook and I'll make us a pineapple snack". You can add scenarios to your heart's content.

It's quite possible neither parent knew of her eating pineapple, which would explain why they didn't incorporate it into the story they told police. It's also quite possible that only one parent was ignorant of the pineapple, which also explains why it wasn't incorporated into the story told the police.
