Jim Belushi sues comedy club manager for defamation

Former 'Saturday Night Live' star Jim Belushi has filed a $50,000 defamation lawsuit against Sahar Chavoshki, manager of The Comedy Bar in Chicago. She is the girlfriend of the club's owner, but he and the club are not being sued. Negotiations over licensing the bar to call itself Belushi's seem to have led to the suit.

"(Chavoshi) has made outrageous and untrue statements to third parties, including comics who have performed at a 'Belushi's'-branded comedy bar in Fort Myers, Florida and/or who intended to work with Belushi, that Belushi is a liar who has engaged in fraud and that he has lied to and manipulated comics who worked at 'Belushi's'-branded comedy bars," the suit states.
