I'm wondering who the father of Jinisina's baby was. If she had a boyfriend that people knew about, what was his reaction to the pregnancy?

Also, having been a preschooler in 1983, I'm not sure how Social Security cards were issued. Was that still the time when a person didn't get one until they were looking to find employment? If so, had Jinisina at 16 gotten one yet or not? Was there any activity on it? etc

From Darlene's DoeNetwork:

Six months after Darlene vanished another 16-year-old student, who was also pregnant, Jan Stonehouse, ran away. Because the pair were friends, it is believed that the disappearances are linked.
There have been confirmed sightings of Darlene - once in 1985, when she was working as a waitress in downtown Toronto; and once in 1987 in the Haliburton area with Jan Stonehouse. Her family grew increasingly concerned when she did not collect thousands of dollars left to her in a trust when she turned 18.
In 2014, her mother made a plea for Darlene to contact the family saying, “We don’t want to disrupt your life, we just want to know that you’re alive and well. We miss you and we love you. We want her to know that we are still thinking of her.”
Additionally in 2014, a tip was received that indicated both Darlene and Jan may be alive and well in Ontario, but under different surnames.

were their families pressuring them to give the babies up for adoption?

there's two babies who, if alive, are adults now with maybe even their own children and grandkids

maybe they want to know who their relatives are, even if Darlene and Jan don't care to be around them

however, I think it would take something serious to keep a young mother from collecting thousands of dollars which would help support her and her child so maybe they have good reasons for staying away

The Doe Network is the most accurate in this case... I don't think they are dead or alone... they are older women, like 50 years old or more... the family just wants to know if they are well and alive... I hope they get in touch someday...

not sure but I got one in 1977 or so to be able to participate in league sports
