Johnny and Jimmy were last seen walking to Johnny's home in Fairfax, Ohio around 4:00 pm on October 15, 1964. They were walking from Frisch's restaurant in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Johnny had reportedly told some friends he was going to run away. Operating on the idea that the boys had hopped on a freight train, local police alerted law enforcement across the nation. The runaway theory was eventually discarded, however, as time passed without any trace of the boys.
