Jonathon and Laura were abducted by their non-custodial parents, Leonardo Arciniega and Diana Polentino, from their Los Angeles, California foster home during a supervised visit on August 30, 2003. An AMBER Alert was issued for them at the time. Arrest warrants were issued for the abductors on June 2, 2004.
The suspects previously lost a 2-month-old child to shaken baby syndrome. Laura and Jonathon were placed in foster care in May 2003, following the baby's death. They are believed to be in danger. They may still be in the Los Angeles area, or they may travel to Mexico, Venezuela, or Colombia.
