UNSOLVED Julianne Stallman Butte,MT murder November 1994

Julianne Stallman, who was a mother, and grandmother, was stabbed to death 24 years ago this week in November of 1994. Her case is still unsolved. There is blood/DNA evidence from her killer. Here's a podcast episode about the case

I initially thought the DNA didn't necessarily belong to her killer. However, the additional DNA recovered from Julie's Shoes and pants match the DNA found under a sink and on a hand towel.

"Additional testing has resulted in more male DNA being recovered from surfaces on Julianne’s body, and it was found to be a match to the DNA recovered from the area rug and hand towel as well as Julianne’s jeans and shoes."

Can DNA Testing Help Catch Montana Mom’s ‘Rage’ Killer 25 Years Later?

Well, this explains the level of violence. A hit man would not be that mad or leave behind that much DNA, even in 1994. Perhaps there was a new man that was jealous. Hoping they checked for DNA in her bedroom. Did her son know of any other boyfriend?

“Before her murder, Julianne had been involved in two love triangles — one with her ex-husband, Van Stallman, and his wife, Sherry Stallman, and another with her former boyfriend, Brian Skinner, and his girlfriend, Jamie LeProwse.

Both Skinner and LeProwse were interviewed by Holes and denied any involvement in the killing. Neither have ever been arrested or charged in connection with Julianne’s murder.

The unknown male DNA sample was tested against that of Skinner’s, Van's and close family members’, and they have all subsequently been eliminated as the source of the DNA.

Ok, a little repetitive, but anyway.

I don't necessarily think Skinner isn't involved. I firmly believe the letter shown to her daughter Jennifer was definitely "written" typed by LeProwse.

First paragraph contains statements such as:

"You are a wonderful man and **we** don't want to see you hurt. You deserve someone who will love you and who you can trust."

In the latter part:

"Maybe when you know where she spent the weekend you will finally see her for the **bit*hy 🤬🤬🤬🤬** she is."

The last line. " **We** feel you had the right to know."

Whose We? Brian and Jamie? I honestly don't believe he received the letter prior to her death. I believe the letter was written by Jamie and Brian after the homicide.

Clearly authored primarily by a woman. But sounds like a narcissistic influence with the elevation of Brian's worth.

Additionally, LeProwse states she wasn't seeing Brian at time of homicide, Brian states he WAS seeing LeProwse at time of homicide.

Conviently Brian blames Sherry, stating, After stalking Julianne at time of homicide, He called Van and Sherry answered. He told her Van was sleeping with Julianne. According to Brian, Sherry stated, "Well I know what I'll do about it, I'll kill the Bit*h."

Very convenient. Sherry died in 2013 and Van died in 2016.

Do you believe that the letter is written/verbal staging post-murder?

Just watched The DNA of Murder episode.

I wonder if the investigation will try genetic genealogy, given that both Van & Skinner were excluded as the sources of the unknown male DNA?

I was going over my "Watched" threads list on WS and this one has not been active in years. Bumping for it.

According to this news report from 2021, police were submitting her case for genetic genealogy. Hope they get answers!
