This one bugged me for a long time.
Her "boyfriend" is an old
(she was 14 and he was 35). Katelyn's parents kept calling the police (who obviously were no help).
It was well known she was in the company of a man who was subsequently incarcerated for preforming a hit.
Her body still has not been found.
