According to the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office, “Keith Rocheleau lives on Barrett Lane by himself. His parents, who live on Cooey Road in Brooks County, had gone out of town and left Rocheleau to watch their home. When they returned, they discovered that his vehicle had been stuck in mud and abandoned. Indications are that Rocheleau had attempted to free his vehicle by using his father’s vehicle. The father’s vehicle was found stuck and abandoned in the road ditch also on Cooey Road.”
Portions of Cooey Road are literally one minute from the Florida state line.
John admits, too, that Keith had a few run-ins with the law on misdemeanors through the years, but he doesn’t think that would have caused him to leave. “I’m not saying Keith was an angel,” John says. “He had some troubles, but a lot of people have some troubles in their lives.”
I've not been able to ascertain exactly what those misdemeanors were, or if they could've contributed to his disappearance.
Today is 13 years since Keith went missing. Many things have happened since then. Our oldest son Ryan has passed away since then. Also Keith’s parents and all of his siblings have passed away. They all left this life without knowing what happened to their father, son and brother. He has had 3 beautiful grandchildren born since he has been gone. The youngest is less than a week old.
We all live daily with not knowing how his life ended or where his body is.
But someone or more than one someone knows exactly what happened. More than likely the truth has been shared. Someone needs to share this information to bring closure to Keith’s family. If you have any information or know someone who may please contact the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office or the GBI.

This UID was found as skeletal remains in an overgrown field in Suwannee County, FL, January 17, 2020, about 30 odd miles from Cooey Rd in Brooks County. 0 comparisons. I can't find any news coverage. Unfortunately no identifiers except white/caucasian/male.

This is in my area, I’m outside of Thomasville on the Thomas Brooks County line. It’s a positive step by the GBI involvement. There seems to be a lack of experience in these type cases through out South Georgia, lack of information and witnesses cooperation stalls an investigation. Pray they find answers, nearly 30 years have passed and it’s still difficult for my Mom not knowing location of her Sister’s remains.

Details of Disappearance

Rocheleau was last seen in Brooks County, Georgia on August 4, 2009. He was taking care of his parents' home while they were out of town for a few days.

On the day of his disappearance, he drove his red 1995 Dodge Dakota off Cooey Road and got it stuck in the mud two and a half miles from his parents' home. He left the windows rolled down, the keys in the ignition and a tow rope on the seat, and walked back to his parents' house. He then got into his father's gold 1997 Ford F-150, and tried to use it to free his own vehicle, but his father's truck got stuck as well.

Rocheleau's eyeglasses were later found at the edge of his parents' property line near the woods, his cellular phone was in the yard and his hat was in a flowerbed. His shoes were found separately from each other down the road. He has never been heard from again. He left his parents' dog, whom he was looking after, behind at his own residence on Barrett Lane, and left a steak thawing on the counter at his home as well.

It's completely out of character for Rocheleau to drop out of sight and not contact anyone. His only source of income from was Social Security benefits and an annuity from an insurance settlement, and he had just purchased a house prior to his disappearance. He had a history of misdemeanor arrests, but his father doesn't think he was involved with any criminal actions that might have caused him to leave. Rocheleau had a good relationship with his ex-wife, who helped participate in the search for him.

Since he went missing, Rocheleau's parents and all his siblings and one of his three sons have died, but his ex-wife and his other two sons are still hopeful for answers in his case. Foul play is possible in his disappearance, which remains unsolved.
