Police investigating after human head washes ashore at Key Biscayne

Police are investigating after a human head washed ashore on Key Biscayne on Tuesday morning.

This human head, now known to be male, washed ashore on Tuesday 11/12/24 at Key Biscayne, Florida which is a barrier island right off the city of Miami.
My first thought immediately goes to a migrant trying to make it ashore who perished at sea and ( sorry to be so graphic) the head disarticulated from the rest of the body.
So far, the only update I have seen to this story is confirmation by authorities that the head belonged to a male.

Head found on Key Biscayne beach was swimmer who drowned after saving sister

The head that washed ashore on Key Biscayne belonged to a 19-year-old swimmer who disappeared after saving his sister’s life in Miami Beach last weekend, authorities said.

This young man was a HERO who sacrificed his life to save his little sister.
What an absolute tragedy.
