It sounds like this performance artist's restaurant employed a lot of undocumented workers, and because ICE was operating in the Nashville area, he decided to close his restaurant, at least for the weekend, so they wouldn't get raided.
From what I know about this guy, he probably paid them sub-market wages and under the table as well, which definitely should get him in trouble if that's the case.
