I've noticed the General discussion getting a bit OT. so lets all vent, chat etc. here..... The general discussion thread should be case related only.

  • #2
ok, but you have to tell me what OT is ok?

  • #3
never mind, I just figured it out. Off Topic

OT is Off Topic.

WS should have a sticky somewhere with abbreviations...

That would be nice. Sorry, I am REALLY tired and had a really bad day. I had to fight to old bats over copyright laws today. So chatting on-line really helps me wind down. thanks for putting up with my weird sense of humor.

I understand. I count at the countdown thread sometimes when I need to wind down.

I have some OT questions for you- KY stuff- but will wait and ask when it isn't so late... It's 1:35am for me.
Need to take some sominex so I can get some sleep. I napped late morning and between my insomina, not sleeping a full night even when I fall asleep early, napping doesn't help.

I'll throw this OT at ya. When I was growing up my parents always took us to the Bluegrass festivals and I grew up knowing of Bill Monroe well.

I am not from here originally. My mom was adopted and she found her birth father here, so here we are. I am hoping to move to VT or AZ soon, Can\t decide which I would like to do more, bake my butt off or freeze it off. lol:crazy:

I'll answer what I can. I haven't heard of Bill Monroe.

Well I have to be at work in 4 hours (need to get a little sleep) and after that I have to pack for a funeral in Ohio.

Bill Monroe was the King of Bluegrass....

I've been to PHX numerous times... I love it out there. What I love the most is the few hour drive to all seasons. Flagstaff is beautiful. Sedona is beautiful. The Canyon was beautiful. Jerome was cool. I haven't been since fall 03 and I miss it!

I loved the Verde river.... gorgeous! Tubing down the salt river... my dad and step mom saw wild horses in the river! I don't think one could run out of things to do in PHX and the colors and snow are just a few hour drive.

ok then sleep. I remember those days being young and not needing much sleep. Sleep well.

I wish I was young again, when I get upset, I clean like crazy. Cleaning refrigerators and scrubbing floors by hand. When I my mom called me at work yesterday about my uncle's death, I HAD to clean the floor. (my co-workers are smart they leave me alone). So now my knees hurt. I have never been one to cry, so I clean.

Vermont. If you go to AZ go anywhere BUT Phoenix. If you want me to elaborate I will be happy to, just didn't want to bore you.

I'M BAAAAACK!!!

The Harley-Davidson 105th Anniversary party in Milwaukee was so much fun! We went up there with a group of 10 of our closest riding friends. I drove the van with all of our gear and pulled a trailer for the first time in my entire life.

I've never seen so many motorcycles in one place ever in my life before! The people of Milwaukee are some of the kindest, most awesome people I've ever met! They allowed over a million motorcycle riders to take over their city and suburbs for a week. How incredible. While we were driving in, there were people on the overpasses with American flags and signs welcoming us to Milwaukee. So cool! When we were leaving, they were there with signs saying good-bye and they love us and stuff like that! :)

We met some of the coolest people over the weekend from all over the country. I even met some riders from as far away as Mexico, Canada, and the Netherlands (I have NO idea how they even got their bike over from the Netherlands-probably there's a ferry over the Atlantic...). I met a guy from Maine that sounded like he had a foreign accent (it was a cross between British mixed with a Bostonian kind of accent). I thought it was weird, but he made fun of my Chicagoland Midwesterner accent, so we were even. LOL

Are there any other motorcycle riders/passengers on this forum? :)

I have a cousin in Mesa and my childhood friend from Maine lives in Avondale. I would love to go to Arizona State. but every time Kelly is involved with a guy, EVRYONE else ceases to exist except her babies. So I am leaning toward VT. I like the name Phoenix, but it really holds no appeal. but you can elaborate any way. the only ppl who bore me are yuppie rich girls.

Well, being from Phx myself, there are many yuppie rich girls in Scottsdale, Ahwatukee, Chandler, etc. I dealt with them in high school, as I lived in Ahwatukee/Chandler! But if you like more city than desert, Phoenix is the place to be if you like the west coast. Tucson is a nice area too, it is more desert like but you still have everything available to you that would be in a city. Arizona definitely has it's own distinct beauty, though. Depending on where you are, you can be in a stifling 120 degree heat (but it's a dry heat!) OR, up north near Showlow/Pinetop you can be in cold snow. The mountains, cacti and clear blue skies are just beautiful. You can see every star in the sky (the further away from central Phx you are), so if you like star gazing, it's pretty awesome there. You're close to Cali, so if you every wanted to see the beach, it's only a few hours away, and California offers a lot of shopping and theme parks, it's just friggin' expensive, lol. AZ is a great place to hike, too! Lots of different looking animals.. roadrunners, desert owls, horny toads, coyotes, javalinas, scorpians, tarantulas, gila monsters and diamondbacks all prove pretty intresting to see. I guess it all depends on what you're looking for..

Good luck! :blowkiss:

I like a little bit of everything. I enjoy fine dining, museums and music festivals. I know that there is an Indian Res. somewhere near there. I love Native Amer. art. I love to star gaze and have my solitude. I take life moment by moment when I can. I can live without the scorpions, snakes and spiders. but the unique mammals, I love to learn more about. oh and the horny toads, which variety were you talking about? the two legged variety or the other one.

I do miss the beach (but I don't want to ever go to cali. I can handle any natural disaster but earthquakes.) and I can do w/ out the 2 legged horny toads of the world. ;)
