Family members say the body of Leuh Moore was found inside a dumpster in southwest Wichita.

Wichita police are investigating the 38-year-old's death as a homicide.

Officers were called around 6 p.m. Sunday to The Cave liquor store in the 1700 block of South Seneca. An employee of the liquor store said a customer had found the body in a dumpster behind the business.

Officer Charley Davidson said Moore suffered blunt force trauma. He said the crime appears to have happened at a home in the 1100 block of West Dayton, less than a mile from the liquor store.

Wichita man accused of killing wife, putting body in dumpster

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -
Police say the husband of a 37-year-old woman whose body was found in a Wichita dumpster has been arrested in Iowa.

Lt. Todd Ojile said the suspect was arrested at around 9:20 a.m. Tuesday in Davenport. An Iowa state trooper found the victim's stolen vehicle in a hotel parking lot and the 30-year-old suspect was located inside the hotel and taken into custody.

According to the article LE found 2 dogs at the home had been stabbed. They were taken to the vet. No word on how they are doing.

'He beat her daily': Domestic violence linked to Wichita woman's death

Moore's husband, 30-year-old Donnell Stafford, was arrested in Davenport Iowa on Tuesday.

Moore's family is still in denial that she's gone, saying they saw signs of domestic violence at the hands of her husband.

"My nephew, he said he beat her daily," Moore's brother, Leland Jackson, said. "The feelings are still hard to show because it's still unbelievable. It's just very hard. I can't show my feelings at the moment. That tears you up."

The man accused of killing his wife and dumping her body behind a Wichita business has been charged with first-degree murder.

Stafford was also charged with two counts of animal cruelty for allegedly stabbing two dogs, which were taken to an emergency vet for treatment.
