Monday, March 23rd:
*Scheduling Conference Hearing (@ 9am CT) - KS – Nicholas Ecker, Jr. (17 mos.) born in 2020 (died in fire set by father, Feb. 13, 2022, Shawnee) – *Nicholas Adam Ecker, Sr. (28/now 32) “father” arrested & charged (2/14/22) & arraigned (8/10/22) with 1st degree murder & aggravated arson with bodily harm, & added (2/15/22) felony stalking charge [but removed as of 9/12/25] & added (8/10/22) with firearm possession by a felon. Plead not guilty. $1M bond. Johnson County
Trial began on 9/23/24 & ended on 10/1/24 with 2 counts hung jury & possession of firearm-Guilty. Will be retried for murder.
Trial (murder) was set to begin on 4/14/25 was cancelled & no further dates.

*Karlie Mae Phelps (28/now 31) “mother” – Plead guilty on 8/18/22 & sentenced on 10/6/22 sentenced to serve 36 months of probation. See post #80 (page 4) for sentencing explanation.
