The Fayette County Coroner’s Office was also at the scene of the investigation, according to police. WKYT reported they were searching for human remains, but none were found.

The teenagers, 15-year-old Aoun Basboos and 16-year-old Ali Naqvi, were last seen getting in the back seat of the Acura around 5:50 p.m. Sunday on the 3300 block of Spangler Drive. Police said the car was spotted on Hume Bedford Road in Bourbon County about an hour later.

The car is considered a vehicle of interest in a shots-fired investigation that occurred on the same date and time as the teens’ disappearance, according to police.

There has been a lot happening today with this case.

UPDATE: Police confirmed that the white 2020 Acura ILX was found at a Lexington business Friday night.

Fayette County Coroner Gary Ginn confirmed to WKYT that police were searching for human remains in the area.

Police are still searching for Aoun Ismail Basboos, 15, and Ali Haider Naqvi, 16.

Trying to piece it all together and it seems the teens got in a car and were shot. The car was found and coroner called and two people - a teen and a 47 yr old - arrested for tampering with evidence. I assume moving the bodies from the backseat. Searching all the farmland (horse farms) around the area and one teen found. Did the teen shoot his peers and the father/friend help cover up? Or the other way around? FBI is involved, but very little information being released.

I was thinking the same, until I perceived that the info about the "shots fired" inferred that was PRIOR to them getting in the vehicle. From news reports, three 17 years old involved in the overal events that night, shots fired, two get in the vehicle, the third teen driving perhaps? I'd wager that the 47 year old, the owner of the vehicle, was the father of the driver. Driver (??) and then father(??) arrested for covering up evidence?

As to why the one young man who entered the car AFTER shorts fired and they entered the vehicle (IF news reports were correct on the timing) was shot, I would only be guessing. Witness to a crime, either intended or something that just got out of hand? Participant in something that got out of hand and perhaps wanted to go to the police and come clean as to the events? Victim for another reason unrelated? There's still too much missing information to really make any sort of determination.

But I wouldn't be at all surprised if the other missing teen turns up alive but that's only my opinion.

They're still looking for another teen after both boys, who attended school in Jessamine County, were last seen on Mother's Day.

According to an arrest citation, Lexington police charged Jesus Rodriguez, 47, and a 17-year-old juvenile with tampering with physical evidence. The citation stated that evidence was found to be concealed on the property and destroyed in plain view of the business where Rodriguez works.

Police have not confirmed the nature of the investigation, but Lexington fire officials told us that members of the LFD dive team were requested to assist other agencies.

I wonder why the coroner showed up to the store without any bodies? I thought maybe there was evidence in the backseat of deaths and that was the tampering (no bodies). Update: Vehicle of interest found, but Lexington teens still missing and possibly in danger; Bluegrass Crime Stoppers offers 5K reward - WTVQ

"The Fayette County Coroner’s Office and Lexington Fire Department also responded to the scene, but officials have not released any additional details about the vehicle’s condition or what was found inside."

Very confusing!
