''HENDERSON, Ky. – A YouTube video posted at the end of January has sparked renewed public interest in the unsolved murder of Blake Crews, a 20-year-old Henderson native who was shot to death in 2015.''

''The case
On Jan. 17, 2015, Kentucky State Police responded to a burglary call at a home on Fairmont Avenue where Crews had been housesitting.

''When law enforcement arrived, the college student was found dead, with multiple gunshot wounds to the face.''

''Kentucky State Police have also been working to get the case back in the public eye. According to spokesperson Trooper Corey King, officials are seeking out production companies like Discovery, Inc., which owns channels such as the true-crime focused Investigation Discovery, to bring national attention to local cases like Crews’.''

''Anyone with information about the case can call Sgt. Jonathan Whittaker at (270) 826-3312 or contact the Henderson County Crime Stoppers at (270) 831-1111. Callers can remain anonymous.''

I spent some time looking and couldn't find much. Even Reddit has very little beyond what was shown here....I imagine that some residents of Henderson know what happened, but haven't spoken out about what they know. It would be nice to have a verified insider here.

It is maddening that Blake was shot in the face, multiple times- who does that then walks around living life as if nothing happened?, imo.

Tree dedication for murder victim Blake Crews is Sunday; public invited (northjersey.com)
''Less than a month after the slaying, the state police charged eight Henderson men, including Garrett Eblen — who lived at the house where Crews was killed — with charges related to the death. Eblen, Sean P. Barrnett, Andrew N. Jaco, Cory L. Pederson, Jonathan Poole and Dominick Dixon were charged with failure to report the death of a person. Two others, James Eblen and Jacob McLaughlin, were charged with drug-related offenses.

However, no one has been charged with his murder which the state police said remains an open investigation.''

"Blake's fraternity, Sigma Nu, included Blake in their composite picture for graduation," said Donna Crews, Blake's mother. "They presented us with this beautifully framed picture with Blake in it. They were so sweet. I wanted to do something for them in return, and so I bought a tree. The fraternity and our family will plant the tree. We have a plaque and the fraternity has decided to inscribe their motto on the plaque. The fraternity's motto is 'love, honor and truth.' I wanted the tree to be along the River Walk because Blake loved the park and the River Walk."

Two more arrested in connection with Henderson murder probe | Local News | the-messenger.com
''King said the men, except McLaughlin, are in custody because they went to the crime scene, saw that Crews was dead and didn’t call the police, or because they knew something had happened and didn’t notify authorities.
King said the investigation led to McLaughlin being charged with drug offenses, but he hasn’t been placed at the crime scene.''
''Crews’ body was found early on Jan. 18 at Eblen’s residence, 528 Fairmont Ave., in Henderson County. Crews did not reside there.
The state police responded to the home for a “burglary in progress” call. Once at the cement block structure, a trooper found Crews’ body inside the home. He had been shot in the face several times, according to an autopsy.''

Its crazy because it was Garrett Eblen. He set crews up.. Also Raechel Lickey his wife was pregnant and involved as well! They both have criminal history and Raechel was never investigated even though she saw crews alive last! Please reopen this case HPD!!

Doesn't seem like the police even care any more. They didn't seem interested in talking or hearing about the case

''Blake Crews, 20, was excited to start a business teaching drums. He spent much of his last day alive trying to print business cards for the new business. Blake never had the chance to live out his dream, though; he died after he was shot multiple times in the face while staying at a friend’s house in Henderson, Kentucky in January, 2015.

The case remains unsolved to this day.

Interviews included in this episode: Donna Crews (Blake’s mother), Amanda Miller (Blake’s sister), Kyle Putman (Blake’s friend), Brandon Beeny (Blake’s friend), and Kati Robb (girlfriend of Jacob McLaughlin).''

This poor young man. I'm thinking he barely knew the "friend" he was helping by house-sitting. How dreadful that this is an unsolved case. He may not even be the only victim of whomever did this.
Sincere condolences to his parents.
