Nelson County Deputies are looking for a missing man with dementia.

Cecil Blair’s family told police he was last seen at his home around 1 p.m. and that he has been diagnosed with dementia.

Blair is a 78-years-old white male, 6 feet tall and weighs 165 pounds. Police say he was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, khaki pants, blue house shoes, and possibly had a red and black plaid button up shirt on.

It was reported that he was operating a blue 2010 Ford Escape with the license plate number 493-KXE.

Cecil Elwood Blair, 78, of Boston, died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2019, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. He was a pipe welder for Jeffboat.

The only thing that bothers me is that the obit. says he was a resident of Boston, KY, while the missing report from Post #1 said he was from Bardstown, KY. These two towns are neighboring communities that are about 12 mile apart:

This source said Cecil Blair's home was in Boston, KY, and that is where he was last seen. This source also says that Cecil Blair's family says that he is deceased. BBM

It’s really weird that I don’t remember this.... Must have happened during one of my periodic “broken computer/internet” periods.

I’m 99.99% sure that “Bardstown” is the location for the story is because it comes from Louisville. Louisville is very LOUISVILLE-centric, so I guess we’re lucky they got the towns are in the same county. Boston is a small town in far western Nelson County and Bardstown is our county seat.

When I searched his name, one of those “background check” websites had an address on Keith Knob Road associated with him. It kind of goes from Boston to the river and then back to north of Boston. Very rural with woods, hills and the winding Rolling Fork (which frequently floods in the area).

I was really wondering about what actually happened to the guy. Did they find him injured? Were he to have died in his car or after wandering off (it’s a really rural wooded and hilly area) - he wouldn’t have died at Jewish Hospital. I wonder how he went from missing to dying at Jewish (I suppose they mean the “main” one in downtown Lville - there are now many “satellite” facilities all around the area).

This is a map with far western Nelson County including Boston and Keith Knob Road. It’s basically the same as Petersburg Rd - the names switch at a curve and driveway, not an intersection or anything you’d notice when driving.
