A celebration of life will be held January 12 at the Commonwealth Club in SF. Quoting the article:

Former KGO radio news anchor Rosie Allen will emcee the memorial. Those invited or confirmed to speak include fellow KGO talk show host Ronn Owens, former mayor Willie Brown, former mayor Frank Jordan, former supervisor Angela Alioto, former KPIX TV news anchor Barbara Rogers and former KGO general manager Mickey Luckoff. Taliaferro's sons also are scheduled to speak.

I suspect this is organized by his friends and sons and that CC is not involved and/or hasn’t been invited. But here’s an interesting quote from a previous article, leaving me wondering if there will be two memorials...

Raphael Taliaferro is still moving forward with plans to hold a memorial for his father at the Commonwealth Club in San Francisco after the holidays.

A family spokesperson said Crawford also hopes to hold a memorial event in San Francisco and include Taliaferro's family.

Thank you for this! I was just thinking about Ray a few days ago, but had a senior moment, or two...., and for the life of me could not recall his name. I also apparently didn't "watch" this thread.
