Teen mom and baby daughter missing in Laurel County

Deputies say 17-year old Shelby Booker and her baby, Jazlyn, were last seen May 24, 2017, at 4:00 p.m. at apartments approximately a half-mile west of London off County Farm Road.

I'm curious as to why, a mere 3.5 hours after last seen this is in the media? Missed appointment? Bad guy boyfriend?

It just seems strange that this is escalated to media and police after just a few hours.

I thought the same thing. Wondering if there is a reason they believe so soon she is missing as opposed to out and about
