I hadn't seen this one before. That's a very high bridge (not far from where I live). It must have been a horrifying sight for the witnesses.

How do they know it was her, if the body was never found?

Haven't been able to find any further accounts of this....

Her husband died just two years before Trudy was thought to have taken her own life. Purcell was a previous last name for Trudy FWIW.

It appears he was missing for a couple of weeks before being found.
Also, I believe she had a brother who passed (at age 16) from a terrible traffic accident. Of course, that would have been years before but still a great deal of sadness for Trudy's family.
