A shooting that occurred late Thursday night has left one man dead and a woman in the hospital with serious injuries. The Fayette County Coroner identified the man as 26-year-old Ethan Boler Hatfield. He is the son of prominent businessman Rod Hatfield, whose name is attached to several area car dealerships. Police have not said who fired the shot.
According to Lexington Police, they responded to a call just after 11:30 Thursday night to a private property on the 4900 block of McAtee Lane. When police arrived on the scene, they found Hatfield and a 22-year-old woman, who has not been identified, with gunshot wounds. Hatfield was pronounced dead on scene. The woman was rushed to the hospital to be treated for her injuries.
