Omg! WTF? That's beyond awful.
Did it look like someone came up and messed with the phone as one of the girls was recording and that is the cause of the fight?Someone posted 5 min of the live stream video on social media. It is so very sad. Horrendous. Thank goodness it does not show the stabbing as the videoing phone was all over the place - lots of yelling. There is a complete lack of remorse and disturbing statements after the fact.
It is a cultural issue, that weapons (whether guns or other weapons) are the solution to all slights. And I do not mean just one section of society. All of them.Saturday’s incident marked the third homicide in six months involving minors between 11 and 16 years old, according to the sheriff.
“This is not something we can police our way out of,” he said. “I just don’t feel like this is a police matter. This is a parenting issue.”

This is insane. What’s going on with minors today. Very scary. MOOSaturday’s incident marked the third homicide in six months involving minors between 11 and 16 years old, according to the sheriff.

But why is that? Do American kids have more mental illness than other nationalities?IMHO, I believe this may just spotlight the mental health of youth across all boundaries. So many are suffering with borderline personality disorders, all the way to full blown sociopathic and psychotic illness.
If there is empathy, understanding of consequences, and the ability to use self-control, then no amount of weapons placed in front of a kid will make them pick it up and use them.

You are comparing the US, the richest country in the world with third world countries.Well, if you look at places where children are part of gangs like in the slums of Brazil where violence using guns, knives and other weapons are rampant...Then I'm going to make an educated guess that this is a worldwide issue. The breakdown of the family, and poverty also play a role. But, childhood mental illness is the elephant in the room that no one talks about.
