I feel like if Crear did wander away voluntarily, it would have been due to disorientation. I see no statements about his health, except that he was on Social Security, which at his age gives off a clue of mental disability as a possibility.

That he walked away from his social security income to me seems very foul-play-ish. And foul play to me seems most likely in this case, because of the (abandoning your source of income) part since I have no indication that he had alternative source of income or savings. He was last seen climbing into a truck with a man.

I hope his family speaks on his behalf, honoring his privacy and theirs - MOO, it is uncommon for a 31yo man to collect a monthly SS check, and in most cases that would be indicative of a physical or mental concern. My hope, MOO, is that enough information is revealed to equip sleuthers to focus on where he may be now.

Caradana, yes. I was on Social Security Disability for a few years in my 20s due to mental health. I will also note that I’ve periodically dealt with substance issues, which happens to a lot of people with SZ or BD. No idea about Crear’s case, but I can attest that during some of the more advanced stages of substance issues I would do things like enter forests in the middle of the night, half naked with no flashlight, and get tangled and cut up in thorny bushes.
