Bossier Parish sheriff's detectives have asked for help from the public in locating a man who has been missing six months. Foul play is not suspected but his family is concerned about his well-being, deputies said.
Charles Richard Mathews, 56, of West Lakeshore Drive in Benton, was reported missing by family members on March 3, but they have not heard from him since September 2008, deputies said.
Mathews is retired from the Louisiana Department of Corrections.
He is described as 6-foot-4 and weighing approximately 195 pounds. He owns a black 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier with Louisiana license plate KLY 870.
Anyone with information about Mathews whereabouts is asked to call the Bossier Sheriffs Office at 318-965-2203 and ask for Detective Cortez Bridges.
