Officials say 30-year-old Dakota Forrest was last seen heading to a pond off Pone Blades Road to go fishing.

His phone, cigarettes, and 4-wheeler were later found near the pond, but there's been no sign of Forrest, according to TPSO.

Deputies say, 30-year-old Dakota Forrest was last seen on Tuesday, April 15.

I'm not reading anything about fishing gear?
His FB post from 4/7, regarding some legal issues IMO

There is NO mention made of fishing gear in any missing article nor in any comments on social media by people who know him. One person posted a past photo of what could be him (from the back and unverified) on the water in a small flat bottomed boat, no motor, just using an oar. Again, not verified but if you search FB with his name and "missing" you can find the photo. The vessel is pretty small, but for one person would be stable IMO. But NO mention of a boat in his missing information.

Pone Blades Rd

(I couldn’t locate the pond they’re referencing.)
Hi @mlhenn. There don’t seem to be any ponds close to Pone Blades Rd

Pone Blades Road appears to be a relatively short, single lane rd (is it gravel? it’s hard to tell from Google earth) on the north side of 38. It appears to dead end into the drives of two residences

On the south side of Hwy 38 however, using Google Earth I can see at least two ponds, and one of those in particular looks like it might have been used for fishing (possibly with a small boat) in the past. It has a small T-shaped wooden dock. Both the pond and the dock are small.

I found one other pond on that side of the road as well, but it is further from Pone Blades rd at 38

The pond I am speaking of is at the end of a short dirt road that comes off of Hwy 38 about 300’ west of Pone Blades Rd. and heads south

Given that there has been no fishing equipment found, and given that there has been no small aluminum flat bottom boat found (like the one we’ve seen in Dakota’s fishing photos), an obvious early investigative step would be to see if the fishing gear he likely would have been using is still at his home.

If it is, I think strong consideration should be given to any possible scenario in which Dakota did not drive his 4 wheeler to the pond, and did not leave his phone and cigarettes… that it is possibly a staged. If police suspect it is staged, imo forensic investigation should begin on the phone, cigs, and 4 wheeler asap

I also find it odd that the cigarettes were left. As a former smoker a long time ago, I could see leaving your phone there - not wanting it to get wet - but I would absolutely have my cigarettes with me while fishing. So unless a gator came up to him as he was standing by the 4 wheeler, imo he would have had the cigarettes with him. But I don’t think that happened. There’s no fishing equipment

Who last saw Dakota? Where does he live, and what are other circumstances (is he married? Employed? Was he going to meet somebody there?). And why is there so little info available on his disappearance and any investigation? Hope he is found soon

ETA: changing road numbers. Thought a 3 was a 2, having recently lost much of the vision in right eye

Deputies said the pond where Forrest went to fish is located along Pone Blades off of Highway 38.

Several days after Forrest went missing, deputies said he was potentially spotted on North Lewiston Road in the Kentwood area. However, they said they need more concrete information to determine whether the person sighted was actually the missing man.

Possible sighting of missing man

That possible sighting photo is quite strange. The person appears to have long hair. Did he have long hair when he went missing? And looks quite dirty and beat up (tears in waders). Is this what he would have been wearing?

In some photos he has a shoulder length ponytail. From sm comments his friends/family/partner can't seem to decide whether it's him or not either.

If you look at this google maps overview 74200 N. Lewiston (north of 38) runs parallel to Pone Blades Road, separated but not that far of a distance. 74200 N Lewiston Rd · 74200 N Lewiston Rd, Kentwood, LA 70444 If you enlarge the view just slightly you can see a pretty large pond just south of where the man was reported as being seen on N. Lewiston Road, just north of the 38/Lewiston intersection.

He looks barefoot to me? The reason it stands out to me is because there is a picture on his FB of him fishing barefoot, It might be his thing? IMO

I don't think the unidentified male in the photo is shoeless.
