Circumstances of Disappearance:
Deshotel was last seen at his residence on south River Road outside of Oberlin, Louisiana on May 15, 1988. He left his home around 11:00 a.m to go pick huckleberries in the southeastern part of the West Bay Game Management Area, near Little Mill Creek. He has never been heard from again.

Deshotel's vehicle was found parked on the roadside at the location where he planned to go berry-picking, about two and a half miles from his home. He wasn't carrying any identification at the time he went missing. The circumstances of his disappearance are unclear and his whereabouts remain unknown.
