Marley Perrilloux was 19 pounds and 35 inches tall and fit into an infant body bag. WAFB reports that Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Col. Donald Capelo said, “This is probably the worst case of child neglect I’ve seen in my 34 years of law enforcement.”

The couple was interviewed and detectives found they had failed to provide proper hygiene, feeding, and medical care for Marley Perrilloux.
5-year-old allegedly starved by parents fit in an infant body bag
The home was in deplorable shape described as barely livable. Three other children were removed from the home. Young Marley had been bedridden for some time and rarely left the residence. LE found drugs and weapons on searching the residence. Both parents are being held without bond.
Cellphone video obtained exclusively by the WAFB I-Team shows the family’s apartment unit in Geismar, where a family of six was living in filthy conditions. Trash could be seen thrown around, with mattresses on the floor.

The district attorney said they will also be checking whether any other adults knew about the child’s condition, and if they did, they could face charges.
An autopsy is pending on the boy. Investigators said it was unclear when the child last ate.
