Tangipahoa Parish sheriffs deputies on Friday asked for the publics help in finding a missing 45-year-old man whose whereabouts have been unknown for three years.
James Willis Cansler III has not spoken to his relatives in seven years, but family members recently asked deputies to try to find him, Dawn Panepinto, parish sheriffs spokeswoman, said Friday.
After six weeks of investigation, deputies determined that Cansler was in the Hammond area as of Jan. 1, 2006, according to a statement the Sheriffs Office issued Friday.
Panepinto said she did not have information about why his family only recently asked for help in finding Cansler.
Cansler is described as a white man of medium build with brown hair and blue eyes, who weighs 180 pounds and stands 5 feet 10 inches tall, deputies said.
Anyone with information on Canslers whereabouts is asked to call Detective Dayle Athmann of the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriffs Office at (985) 902-2032.
