Family members tell about man's disappearance

Jonathan Matthew Tucker, 22, told his sister, Crystal Jackson, of Hammond, that he was going out with his usual group of friends to celebrate Labor Day night on Sept. 7. That night was the last time she or anyone from her family has seen Tucker, she said. She felt uneasy when he did not answer his phone the next day.

“I felt like it was a red flag when I called and it was like his phone was turned off,” Jackson said Wednesday. “He’s not even the kind of person that would let his phone die.”

Jackson said there was recently a death in the family and she called her brother the next morning to see if he needed to go clothes shopping for the services they were planning to attend. Even though she felt uneasy when she could not get a call through to Tucker, other family members assured her he would turn up. When he did not answer his phone Sept. 9, the day of the service, she called Hammond police and filed a missing person’s report.

...

Hammond Councilman Devon Wells told The Daily Star that Tucker is his nephew and he is prepared to used all his public connections to assist in the investigation.

If you search for pictures on fb with Jonathan Matthew Tucker, you see that the second picture in the opening post has been cropped. By posting the original picture on his SM he could have potentially put himself in danger.

It is stated that he left home in the evening with a friend. What does the friend say about their evening out? Where was he last seen by the friend? Is there another witness? Where and when did his phone ping last? Either some of the answers are missing or they aren't adequate to solve this case.

“He recently had to file for unemployment. The first two times he applied he was denied, but his application was accepted the third time he applied,” she said. “After he finally received his first payment, they sent him the previous two weeks’ pay retroactively.”

The retroactive payments were sent and stored on one ATM card, and Jackson fears he was possibly targeted for possessing a large amount of cash at one time.

Woman wanted in connection to case of Hammond man missing since Labor Day of last year

HAMMOND, La. (WVUE) - The Tangipahoa Parish Sherrif’s Office has named a woman as a suspect connected to the sudden disappearance of a Hammond man last seen on Sept. 7, 2020, said Chief Jimmy Travis. This is the first major development in the case made public by law enforcement officials.

Jonathan Tucker, 22, was reported missing after he didn’t return home from a night out partying with friends on Labor Day. He was last seen in the 600 block of Susan Drive in Hammond.

Travis said that Christie “BeBe” McKnight, 30, of Hammond, is wanted by detectives on an outstanding warrant for obstruction of justice related to Tucker’s disappearance.

McKnight is believed to currently be somewhere in Texas, possibly the Houston-Katy area, Travis said. She has been entered into a national database as a wanted person.
