Ouachita Sheriff’s Investigators are attempting to locate a missing Ouachita Parish resident.
Merle Long, age 47 of Calhoun, was last seen on Sandra Road in Calhoun December 27, 2019.

Long is described as a White male, 5’-8” tall and weighing 155 lbs. with brownish hair. Long was traveling on foot in the Sandra Road and 103 Truck Stop areas when he was last seen.

Anyone with any information as to the whereabouts of Merle Long is asked to contact the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office at 318-329-1200."

"A Calhoun man allegedly chasing his girlfriend with a metal pipe was arrested by deputies.

According to the police report, a neighbor told deputies that he saw the suspect, Merle Long, 46, of Calhoun, chase the victim with a metal pipe on Monday night.

Deputies located the victim, who was hiding, next to the drive of the home. She said her live-in boyfriend chased her away from the residence with a large metal pipe. She feared Long would strike her if he caught her.
