Mohammed “Mo” Alghannam, a mechanical engineering student, was last seen March 28 in Metairie, La., a suburb of New Orleans. He took a trip to the area with his uncle who last saw him at the Extended Stay America, 3300 S. Interstate 10 Service Road, the day before. Alghannam told his uncle he had bought a bus ticket to San Antonio, and checked out of the hotel at 1:40 a.m. on March 28. He was in touch with his uncle around 1:55 p.m., the last time anyone heard from him. He was traveling either on Grey Hound or Mega Bus lines.

Alghannam is 25 years old and has black hair and eyes. He is 5 feet six inches tall and weighs 150 to 155 pounds.

The family says they've been in touch with a UTSA Police detective twice a day, but no evidence has been found suggesting anything suspicious. The department is now looking into credit card and bank account activity for clues as to Alghannam's whereabouts.

From December:

The trail has run cold for a mechanical engineering student from Saudi Arabia who disappeared in New Orleans in late March after visiting Bourbon Street, authorities said Tuesday.

Over the past eight months, investigators have subpoenaed cellphone records, interviewed family members and, most recently, entered a relative’s DNA into a database of unidentified bodies, looking for a match. But even a private investigator has been unable to find Mohammed “Mo” Abdulmohsen Alghannam...

The uncle, known as Fadhel... told authorities he left Alghannam near Bourbon Street about 9:30 p.m. March 28 — the last time he saw him — and then drove overnight to Conway, Arkansas, sending his nephew a text when he arrived at 5:02 a.m. Fadhel received a response several hours later, according to court records. It said: “Great! Glad to hear that.”
