The St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office arrested a Chalmette woman Saturday for the attempted murder of her 6-year-old and 10-year-old daughters after she allegedly threatened to smother them and held both in choke holds.

Lightell admitted she had been drinking alcohol and was on several medications, Pohlmann said.
