Three people, including two children, are facing murder charges after a three-year-old girl was beaten to death
The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office said they responded to a medical assistance call at a home on O’Neal Lane on Monday, Feb. 12, and found an unresponsive three-year-old girl. The child was taken to a hospital in critical condition with a brain bleed, as well as bruises and abrasions to the face and body consistent with blunt force trauma.
Terica Scott, who is an acquaintance of the three-year-old’s mom, was at the home when deputies arrived, and told them she had just left the casino. She was issued a summons for desertion.
A 10-year-old boy and a 12-year-old boy — Scott’s son and nephew who were left unattended with the other children — were later identified as suspects. They were both arrested on Friday, Feb. 16, and booked into the EBR Juvenile Detention Center for simple battery and second-degree murder.
