Lawmaker works to make bestiality illegal in Florida

ITA, Nova, concerning the issue of general society's reverence for the sexual innocence and purity of children being sullied by pedophiles. No longer can parents proudly show off their sweet bath-time photos and very rarely can toddlers get away with running through the sprinkler in the front yard bare-bottom. That is one of the saddest outcomes of the validation of pedophilia, IMO.

I've experienced a similar outcome of the growing knowledge of bestiality. Things that used to seem very innocent to me in the past, now have taken on a tainted sense. It used to be common practice to photograph children with the family pet. Now, sick people who trade in child 🤬🤬🤬🤬 and bestiality 🤬🤬🤬🤬 have spoiled that to a degree.

I hope you are right about this being a rare paraphilia. I'm not getting that sense, though. WS have certainly opened my eyes to things I never knew existed and caused me to research these interests. That's led me to believe that it's far more common that we thought.

I also think there's a vast difference between a conduct-disordered youth (budding sociopath) who is cruelly torturing animals for thrill and those who express a sexual/sensual connection with their pets and/or other animals. The end result is sometimes the same but sometimes very different. Society always has to err on the side of caution when it comes to safety for our animal friends, though, to my mind.

I believe we may have run out of areas of disagreement. :)

You're right: the DSM could be wrong. As was proved with Kinsey, psychiatrists do not always see a full cross-section of people and it is admitted that surveys on sex are problematic because respondents tend to lie.

I too think it's a shame that toddlers can't play naked in the sprinkler without inspiring alarm. I have three GORGEOUS grandchildren! Nobody at WS has ever seen a single photo of them. Not that I particularly distrust people here, but I don't know who all is a member. And that's a shame.

Just a quick update on Florida:

http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news...orida-bestiality-law-20110505,0,7802278.story

Anti-bestiality law finally passed by Florida Legislature

"Florida lawmakers have finally approved a law against bestiality after years of inaction. The bill (SB 344) was approved 115-0 by the Florida House on Wednesday. The Senate had unanimously approved it in March. It now goes to Gov. Rick Scott to sign into law. The state previously had no law specifically prohibiting sexual contact between humans and animals.

An infamous case arose in 2005 when prosecutors had difficulty bringing charges against a blind Tallahassee man accused of having sex with his guide dog...."

Thank you, Florida legislators. This law is so important as those who commit a crime against animals must be charged. When James Tait and Douglas Spink of Washington orchestrated the sexual contact between an man and a horse--which resulted in the man's horrible death--the only charge that WA could come up with was trespassing. WA quickly changed their laws. I'm very very pleased that the Florida legislators put aside their discomfort concerning this subject and voted unanimously to afford our animal friends with some protection under the law.

You know its a sad commentary that its even an issue where someone has to pass a law to make it illegal.
It should be one of those goes without saying deals.

It's is now formally against the law to participate in any form of bestiality in the state of Florida. Thank you legislators!! And a very special thank you to Senator Rich.

Gov. signs bestiality bill

"Gov. Rick Scott signed SB 344 outlawing bestiality, his office announced Thursday. The announcement came without comment, just as the legislative floor debates on the matter came with little oratory from either political party...."

and

"...The bill was sponsored by Democratic Senate Leader Nan Rich, D-Sunrise."

I'm posting this here as we had quite a spirited debate about this subject upthread. I thought everyone would just be ecstatic that Malcolm Brennan has made good on his promise to get his book, "Wet Goddess", out to the general public. Thank goodness that his actions would now be a crime in the state of Florida. All in all, the whole story makes me very sad. Brennan did NOT have a "sexual relationship" with the dolphin, any more than an adult can with a child. Children, animals and the severely disabled are not capable of legally giving consent to sexual contact. In this case, it's bestiality. Plain and simple. Brennan abused a bright and wonderful animal, and he's proud of it.

Malcolm Brenner Chronicles His Sexual Relationship With Dolphin In 'Wet Goddess"
September 23, 2011

"She was the one that got away.

Malcolm Brenner, 60, wrote "Wet Goddess," a new book about a man's nine-month sexual relationship with a dolphin -- an affair that bears "a striking degree of resemblance" to his own interspecies romance.

The author claims he started his relationship with a dolphin named Dolly back in 1970, when he was in his early 20s. Brenner was a sophomore at New College of Florida in Sarasota. A writer hired Brenner to take photographs for a children's book about the dolphin show at an amusement park in nearby Nokomis. He was given free access to the park and introduced to the staff.

If Brenner is to be believed, the dolphin courted him...."

What does that last line sound exactly like? Isn't that what most pedophiles say when caught? I'm sure the author is very pleased that this reporter used the phrase, "interspecies romance". That's what the zoophiles/bestialists want. Just as NAMBLA refers to the grooming and rape of little boys as "mutually consensual relationships". Right.

I remember when this law was being passed soon after we moved to this less-than-lovely state - what a shock, so much perversion and deviancy (gotta be something in the FL water supply).

And then Malcolm Brenner. I remember hearing about him too. I had to look up Floridaland which was located across from Oscar Scherer State Park in Osprey/Nokomis.

God I hate Florida.
