Is it possible to leave a private message conversation that I had been a part of?
Thanks!Yes, at the top of each page in the message thread are three buttons — star, mark unread, and leave.
I could have written your post! I have the same questions. I know I could hit leave and ignore future messages but let's say a group is full and you may want to remove yourself from the group, allowing the original creator the option to add someone else. Do you alert the person who created the group? I'm assuming there would be a way for the original creator to bounce out a participant if needed.Yes, however, there are a few things you should know about it.

- Your name will still appear in the Participant list so other Participants will never know if you've left, or still lurking.
- You obviously saw your options. Re: Default - I'm not sure that I understand it. If you leave via the Default, anyone posting is going to give you an alert so you can pop back in. Unless I'm not understanding... I don't see the point since it appears to be no different than simply closing that window.
- Ignore future messages - You're GONE gone (except your name is still in the Participant list).
I ALMOST brought that up but didn't. Glad you asked! Leaving a DM does NOT open up a seat for someone else. So if a DM is full (Currently 101 (1 + 100 invitees), when it used to be 21)... and people leave... there is still no room to invite anyone. Full is full, regardless if people are leaving or not. Also, the Participant is the one that has to remove themselves.I could have written your post! I have the same questions. I'm going to try to look at this with a positive spin.I ALMOST brought that up but didn't. Glad you asked! Leaving a DM does NOT open up a seat for someone else. With that said... I have asked Fraize for that ability. Most recently yesterday in our monthly Zoom meeting. The other thing I've asked for is the ability to have Backup DM owners, and the ability for the Owners to remove people. Live REMOVE remove, so there name isn't on the list either.
I do not know if he'll be able to do that. Some things are out of his control due to the program being used (XenForo). If the program doesn't have that capability, then he usually can't do it.
As for backup DM owners... my thinking is they could add people if the DM creator isn't around. Not everyone likes an open DM where anyone can add people willy nilly. I prefer to control them, as do several others I know. But, that would sure come in handy if you're not around. A backup could step up and handle the request.
