"Gone Girl" actor Lisa Banes died Monday after she was struck in an apparent hit-and-run accident in New York City's Upper West Side more than a week ago, according to her manager.

"We are heartsick over Lisa's tragic and senseless passing," David Williams told NBC News. "She was a woman of great spirit, kindness and generosity and dedicated to her work, whether on stage or in front of a camera and even more so to her wife, family and friends. New York — “Gone Girl” actor Lisa Banes died 10 days after being injured in a hit-and-run accident in New York City, police said.

The 65-year-old Banes, who was struck by a scooter or motorcycle while crossing a street on June 4, died Monday at Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital, a police department spokesperson said.

Banes appeared in numerous television shows and movies, including “Gone Girl” in 2014 and “Cocktail” with Tom Cruise in 1988. On television, she had roles on “Nashville,” “Madam Secretary,” “Masters of Sex” and “NCIS.”...

Ugh, I hate hit and run. I understand that people run because they are scared, but really - it's an intersection of callousness and cowardice. How can you leave a woman in the road?

The man charged with fatally striking “Gone Girl” actor Lisa Banes with an electric scooter last year pleaded guilty to manslaughter Wednesday and is expected to be sentenced to one to three years in prison.

Brian Boyd, 27, will be sentenced Nov. 30 in the death of Banes, who was hit by the scooter Boyd was operating as she crossed a New York City street in June 2021...

Boyd was sentenced by Judge Gregory Carro in Manhattan Supreme Court on Wednesday, 30 November to one to three years behind bars.
The court heard how Boyd had sped through a red light on his electric scooter before hitting Banes and fleeing the scene.
At the sentencing, Boyd reportedly said he was 'extremely sorry' following the incident.

“I’m extremely sorry,” he said. “I don’t really have the words except ‘I’m sorry.’”
