The river is the marsh--it's a tidal estuary. Most of the bodies found in it are dropped off the bridge, but it sounds like she was buried. It's always been popular with organized crime groups. In 1982 and earlier, the Winter Hill gang (Whitey Bulger) disposed of many of their victims there, but she doesn't match any of the known victims.

Thanks for the information.
What do you make of them being able to discern her eye color? What TOD do you think that might give her? I find it odd they can't establish her age but they are able to tell her eye color.

It looks to me like the case was entered from an old and possibly incomplete medical examiner's report.

LE in Massachusetts at that time was both incompetent and corrupt. If her death was thought to be related to the Winter Hill gang, or other organized crime, evidence could have been suppressed or removed. Or it might have simply been lost after that many years.

If they were able to discern an eye color, it can't have been more than a day or so?

Addition: there's a note that some of the information came from an EMS report? So I'm thinking maybe all the crime connections are a red herring and she just drowned or something.

So it's possible the EMS and other reports are just incomplete, it sounds like.

Glad to see Simone was ruled out. I had mentioned the possible match to the sheriff investigating her case, so it's good to see they pursued it, even if it turned out not to be her.
