The school appears to be one of those "end of the line" schools, for kids with behavioral problems so severe they cannot live in the community, and the 14-year-old female suspect wanted to leave the dorm and the employee tried to stop her.

Whatever the circumstances, it's obviously a very tragic situation.

Is that all the charges that could be thrown at her considering the woman died? From your article:

The teen has been charged with assault and battery causing serious bodily injury.

Meadowbridge [sic] Academy is a “therapeutic residential school providing comprehensive treatment to youth and young adults with mental health issues, behavioral difficulties, and complex trauma histories,” according to its website.

ETA - To correct MSM's misspelling of the school. It's Meadowridge, not ...bridge.

OMG, same, I thought it was an error in the reporting.

It's a lovely looking school with a really nice mission. It's too bad the teen won't be benefiting from it. :(

Meadowridge Academy is a therapeutic residential school providing comprehensive treatment to youth and young adults with mental health issues, behavioral difficulties, and complex trauma histories. We use the evidence-based treatment model, Attachment, Regulation, and Competency (ARC), to help students build positive relationships and self-regulation skills, and transform their individual interests into sources of strengths, resiliency, and success. Our students attend school on campus, year-round, and have a full day of academic and vocational training.
