The family of Justin Ramos has been actively searching the Worcester for the 27-year-old, who has been missing since the beginning of the month.

Ramos was last seen at a friend's house on Jan. 8, according to Worcester Police Sgt. Kerry Hazelhurst. Ramos' mother filed a missing person report with Worcester police the next day and has been in constant contact with police.

One of Ramos' friends, Katherine Davidson, said that Ramos suffers from a mental disability and that his family is worried for his safety.

Davidson said Ramos was not far from his family's home on Vassar Street when he went missing. He was with friends and waiting to be picked up by another friend, she said.

Reached by phone briefly on Monday, Ramos' mother, Melissa, said she was out driving around, looking for her son.

Detectives are searching for Ramos, Hazelhurst said. Officers have checked homeless shelters, but have not found Ramos.

Ramos is 5 feet 8 inches tall and about 190 pounds with brown hair and a beard, Hazelhurst said. He was wearing a blue jacket, tan pants and red shoes when he went missing.

Davidson said that Ramos primarily stays in Worcester. He was one of her closest friends when they went to Doherty High School.

"He was very charismatic," she said. "He had a really, really great personality, super funny."

His last known whereabouts was on Valley Hill Drive in Worcester on January 7th.* According to friends, he left with a group of people and left his cell phone at home.* This is unusual for Justin to leave home for several days without being in contact with friends or family.

WORCESTER - Police said a body was found Monday night at 4 Valley Hill Drive, and a resident has been charged in connection with the discovery.

Police said Xavier Broughton, 32, of 4 Valley Hill Drive, was arrested and charged with disinterment of a human body and misleading a police investigation. The investigation is continuing, police said.

Police confirmed Monday night that 4 Valley Hill Drive was the location of a party earlier this month where 27-year-old Justin Ramos was last seen. His family and friends have been looking for him since.

More info-

Xavier Broughton woke up in the night after celebrating his birthday and saw that Justin Ramos, who had come over to party with him, was having trouble breathing.

After several interviews with police, Broughton told authorities that Ramos died of a heroin overdose in the early hours of Jan. 8 at his 4 Valley Hill Road home. He dragged his friend down the stairs, leaving his dead body on the back porch, according to authorities.

"According to the defendant, it became apparent to him that his friend, Mr. Ramos, was no longer alive. He panicked, and he dragged him down the stairs by his legs through the home, to the back porch, where he left him," prosecutor John Melander Jr. said in Worcester Central District Court on Tuesday.

In initial interviews with police, Broughton, 32, said he awoke to find Ramos, 27, eating a bowl of cereal. Ramos then left the 4 Valley Hill Drive house, Broughton told police.

Broughton said that after he saw Ramos having trouble breathing, he put Ramos in the bathtub and splashed water on him to revive him. He told police that Ramos ate a bowl of "Cinnamon Toast Crunch" cereal and left, court documents read.

Eventually, a K-9 was brought to 4 Valley Hill drive, where Broughton lives with his mother.

That's when officials discovered Ramos' body, left out on an enclosed porch and covered with cardboard boxes and papers.

RIP Justin 🥀

The mother had no idea there was a dead body on her porch?

No, Justin was found on the back porch of Broughton's house.

His mother said Justin was secretive about his new friend, and she would only learn later that a neighbor for whom he shoveled snow often drove Justin to Valley Hill Drive.

His mother showed up there the day after Justin didn’t come home, after learning he had been with Broughton. She said Broughton denied that Justin was there. As she sat in the driveway, wondering what to do next, Broughton’s mother came out and revealed that they had Justin’s phone, but she refused to turn it over. His mother called police, who recovered Justin’s phone and returned it to her. Police also searched the house the day after that but found nothing, she said.

For three weeks, Xavier Broughton knew that the frantic family and friends searching for Justin Ramos wouldn’t find him. All that time, Justin Ramos’ lifeless body was hidden under cardboard boxes and paper bags on an enclosed back porch of Broughton’s home. And Broughton knew because he was the one who dragged him there.

On Sunday, police received a tip that a witness saw Broughton drag Justin’s limp body outside on Jan. 8. On Monday, after learning police were at the house, his mother returned to Valley Hill Drive. As she parked outside, she saw detectives enter the home with search dogs. Soon after, she heard barking and a commotion in the backyard.

"Dismemberment" (in particular) after a heroin overdose...it takes a certain mind to dismember...not sure I am buying the story of how things went down, moo. Then again if heroin was involved, I suppose this could lend itself to that psyche...

Omg, thank you.

I had to look up the term:

1.*disinterment*- the act of digging something out of the ground (especially a corpse) where it has been buried. digging up, exhumation.
