Lt. John Soules said 69-year-old Lee Walter Meisenheimer was last seen by family July 13, but was then spotted at a local bank July 19. He is known to frequent grocery stores and the Walmart in the Coltsville neighborhood.

It is unclear when Meisenheimer left his home. Soules said Meisenheimer does not have many immediate family members, which has made it difficult for authorities to put together a timeline for his disappearance.

He does not have a social media presence and police do not believe he is carrying a cell phone. Police do know the location of his car, and do not believe he has access to a vehicle.

"His remains and clothing were ultimately found on Sunday evening about 0.1 miles from his home down a wooded embankment in the backyard of a Morningview Drive house." (From the Berkshire Eagle article above)

Seriously? Just 0.1 miles from his house? Did no one search the immediate area, ever? Even after the neighbor reported an odor and knew he was missing? SMH.

I really hope he didn’t lay in that embankment injured for days before dying. I’m floored that he was that close and wasn’t found.

I'm always shocked when people aren't initially found by search dogs. I know nothing is 100% but it just seems like it should have been easy to follow his scent. Rip Lee and I'm sorry that a child was the one to find him.
